I was asked by someone this week to recommend books to help cope with the death of her mother. Since she has children as well, I asked other librarians and looked through my information and came up with a list of books for both adults and children. I have a good friend who is a grief counselor in Ramsey, NJ. We wrote a song together for kids dealing with loss called "The Monster" ('monster' being a metaphor for grief). I'll email the lyrics to anyone for free, or you can find the song on itunes or on Tommy Gardner's "Kangaroo Waffles & Other Treasure". songsforschools.com
What a helpful list of books.
