If you are looking for books for a baby, here are some every child should have. Most are available in board books. If you get board books, make sure they have all the text of the original book.

I have another to add for a new baby. My daughter is 7 months old and loves Baby Monster. It's a cloth book so she often chews it as we read, and I don't have to worry about her biting chunks out of the book.
